SomaSoul®️ Somatic Therapy
A body-centered approach to emotional healing and integration
Somatic therapy is a healing approach that connects the mind and body. While traditional talk therapy often focuses on cognition, somatic therapy recognizes that some wounds are stored in the body and cannot be fully healed through talking and analyzing alone. In somatic therapy, we turn toward our pain and wounds through body awareness. By allowing ourselves to feel these emotions fully, we create the conditions for them to move through us and begin to heal.
In SomaSoul® Somatic Therapy, the process centers on embodied listening and presence, with movement and expressive arts offered as supportive tools. In these sessions, you’ll be guided to connect with your body’s wisdom, bringing mindfulness and compassion to difficult emotions or stress patterns, and opening space for resilience, integration, and personal growth.
Move with presence. Reconnect with your vitality.
Somatic Rhythms is an embodied movement practice that invites you to reconnect with your body through rhythm, flow, and mindful awareness. Guided by music from diverse cultures, this practice awakens natural movement and supports emotional regulation, expression, and inner balance.
Blending elements of Qigong and expressive movement, Somatic Rhythms encourages you to:
Strengthen the mind–body connection through mindful movement
Experience ease, freedom, and vitality
Express yourself creatively and authentically
Reconnect with your inner rhythm and aliveness
There are no steps to follow—only music, movement, and space to be fully in your body. No dance experience needed.
Rooted in the Shake Your Soul® approach from the Leven Institute for Expressive Movement (USA), Somatic Rhythms is facilitated by Melanie, a certified Shake Your Soul® teacher and somatic practitioner. Her sessions offer a safe and welcoming space where movement becomes a pathway to self-awareness, release, and reconnection.
Melanie currently facilitates classes at WE CARE Community Services and collaborates with community organisations, corporate wellness programs, and individuals seeking to bring the benefits of mindful movement into their lives.

Attachment-Focused EMDR
Attachment-Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (AF-EMDR) is a somatic therapy that integrates elements of traditional EMDR and attachment theory to address trauma, particularly attachment-related wounds. It expands on standard EMDR protocols by emphasizing the therapeutic relationship and building internal resources before processing trauma. Somatic therapy, in general, focuses on the mind-body connection and uses techniques to help individuals process trauma through physical sensations and body awareness.

Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a gentle and meditative practice that aims to target the deep connective tissues of the body. Unlike more dynamic styles of yoga, yin yoga involves holding passive poses for extended periods of time, typically around three to five minutes. This allows for a deep release of tension and a gentle opening of the body.
Yin yoga poses are often held close to the ground, and the use of props such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks can help support the body and encourage relaxation. The practice is designed to be slow and meditative, allowing practitioners to deeply connect with their breath and explore sensations in the body.
Yin yoga is also an excellent practice for cultivating mindfulness and introspection. The long holds in each pose provide an opportunity to observe the thoughts and sensations that arise, and to practice acceptance and non-judgment. This can be particularly beneficial for those dealing with stress, anxiety, or chronic pain.
