Melanie Gooi

SomaSoul® Somatic Therapist (RSMT/E)

Melanie believes that an embodied presence that is kind, caring, and attentive creates a safe space for sharing, support, and trust. A warm and compassionate presence opens a path for clients to feel truly seen and heard, laying the foundation for healing and transformation.

Her offering as a somatic therapist is to journey alongside her clients, offering sensitive and attuned support. With a focus on the body's innate wisdom, she gently invites awareness of felt sensations and emotions, encouraging clients to befriend their inner experiences with curiosity and compassion. From this embodied presence, Melanie guides clients toward releasing old patterns, discovering new possibilities, and cultivating a deeper sense of well-being and personal growth.

Melanie is a qualified SomaSoul® Somatic Therapist, trained through Leven Institute, and a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist/Educator (RSMT/E) with ISMETA (International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association). She is also a certified Shake Your Soul® movement facilitator, and brings this embodied movement practice into the groups and circles she holds. With a background in expressive movement, arts facilitation, and somatic therapy, Melanie brings a deeply grounded, body-based approach to her work with individuals and groups.

Get in touch with Melanie for your somatic therapy sessions. Based in Singapore, she works with both local and international clients, with sessions available in-person and online. Affordable rates and sliding scale sessions available. Inquire here.

She welcomes individuals who are curious about exploring the healing power of body-based therapy in a safe, non-judgmental, and heart-centered space — those who feel disconnected from themselves and their bodies, carrying overwhelm and anxiety that is hard to put into words. This includes people feeling stuck or heavy in their current life situation, unsure how to move forward, as well as those carrying grief from loss and endings. Through this work, Melanie supports clients in deepening their relationship with themselves and reconnecting with their own sense of agency and inner strength.

Additionally, Melanie also facilitates group somatic work in several settings — she hosts Good Girls Can… Sharing Circle, a community space for women's embodied sharing, and facilitates Rhythm for Recovery at WeCare Community Recovery Centre, bringing movement and somatic practice into addiction recovery support.

If you've ever felt stretched thin, quietly resentful, or like your own needs keep getting pushed to the bottom of the list — consider joining Good Girls Can… Sharing Circle — a gathering for women exploring identity, permission, and self-expression. This work grew out of Melanie's own unlearning, and continues to shape how she holds space for others.

Held monthly on selected Saturday afternoons from 3.30–5.30 pm, the circle offers a safe space to share from the heart, listen without judgment, and feel less alone in your lived experience. There is no advising, fixing, or judging — only presence, compassion, and the collective wisdom of women gathered together.

Testimonials

“I started attending one of Melanie’s group workshops and found her to be a very down-to-earth and authentic facilitator for the participants, so I decided to seek individual therapeutic support from her.

During my 4 sessions with her, her warmth and grounded-ness helped me to feel a sense of safety in a way where I could show up no matter what “state” I was in. I could be myself and come with many different challenging emotions, but she’s never made me feel like I needed to be “fixed” or that I was “messy”. She met me where I was at each time and gently guided me to process my emotions.

In a most recent session, she supported me to come to a place of understanding and empowerment of certain attachment ruptures, and I was able to work through it with much relief and gratitude.

It would be nice if the world had more human-beings and therapists like Melanie! 🫶🏻.” - P
