Kristie Thong
Psychotherapist
Kristie began her career as a business journalist and editor, working with professionals and companies from different industries and corporate functions in Asia Pacific and internationally. A decade later, she became a counsellor as she was drawn to helping others through pain and difficulties.
Since then, Kristie has journeyed with children, youth, adults, and families through myriad issues, including trauma, depression, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, suicide, self-harm, stressful life transitions, and spousal conflict. She has worked in various social service and healthcare organisations providing counselling, mental health assessments, casework management, as well as court-mandated counselling and reunification work for families afflicted by domestic violence.
Kristie is trauma-informed and inclusive in therapy. Grounded in compassion and authenticity, the very principles in which she strives to live her life, she believes in the restorative power of safety and congruence in a therapeutic relationship. Most importantly, she remains humbled by and appreciative of the openness and vulnerability that people bring to the therapy room, where she believes purpose, growth, and healing reside.
Kristie is available on Mondays, Wednesdays (online only) and Fridays, though alternative arrangements can be made with prior notice.
