About Counselling in General
-
Counselling usually focuses on current challenges and practical solutions, while psychotherapy often goes deeper into long-standing patterns and emotions. In our practice we do both and sessions often overlap depending on your needs.
-
If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or notice that your usual ways of coping aren’t working, counselling may be a safe place to get support and clarity.
-
Counselling can support you with stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationships, grief, trauma, or simply making sense of life transitions.
-
It depends on your goals. Some people come for a few sessions to work on a specific concern, while others benefit from longer-term support.
-
Most people start with weekly sessions. Over time, we may move to fortnightly or less often as you feel more confident.
About the Therapist & Approach
-
We use an integrative and holistic approach, which means we draw from different methods depending on what best supports you. Our foundation is person-centered and trauma-informed, but we also integrate tools from other evidence-based therapies when helpful. Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, we tailor the process to your unique needs so you feel safe, respected, and understood.
-
The best way to know if I’m the right therapist for you is to try a session. You should feel safe, respected, and understood. If not, it’s absolutely okay to find someone else — the fit really matters. To help you decide, I also offer a free 10-minute online consultation where you can ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
-
Your therapist is professionally trained, registered, and experienced in supporting people with a wide range of issues, including addiction, trauma, and relationship difficulties.

-
That’s okay. Therapy works best when there is trust. If you don’t feel comfortable, you’re free to stop at any time or we can help you find another counsellor.
-
We welcome all kinds of concerns but we do have special experience in areas such as problematic porn/sex use, addictions in general, trauma recovery, and attachment issues.
Some of our counsellors specialise in couple therapy.

Yes. What you share stays private, unless there’s a serious risk of harm to yourself or others — and even then, we’ll explain clearly what steps need to be taken.
-
No, you don’t need to bring anything. Just yourself. If you’d like, you can bring a notebook or any notes you’ve made about what’s on your mind, but it’s completely optional. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable.”
For TRE/Yoga please bring comfortable clothes.
-
You don’t need to prepare anything special. Just come as you are. Some people find it helpful to jot down thoughts or situations they want to talk about, but it’s not required. The session is your space, and we’ll work with whatever feels present for you on the day.
Emotional Safety & Expectations
-
That’s perfectly fine. Sometimes the hardest part is just showing up. We’ll work gently together until the right words come.
-
Not exactly. Our role is to help you explore options, understand yourself, and make choices that feel right for you.
-
That’s natural and very welcome. Counselling is a safe space for you to express feelings without judgment.
-
You may notice feeling lighter, gaining clarity, or handling challenges differently. Progress can be gradual, but we’ll check in regularly on how things are going.
-
We’ll plan the ending together. You can always return later if new challenges arise — counselling will always be here when you need it.
