Trauma-Informed Practices
There is a growing body of research showing that children who have experienced interpersonal trauma can exhibit impairment in seven key areas: relationship, biology, emotional regulation, dissociation, behavioural regulation, learning engagement and self-concept. This short talk will highlight the aetiology and symptomology of interpersonal traumas and how psychologists and counsellors can help support children and youth who have been exposed to interpersonal trauma through a four-phase treatment process.
